Have just refitted the rear screen and wow it is light at 4½ pounds in weight. The screen is held in place with what can only be described as nylon or plastic number plate type screws 20 in total and sealed with some black compound which I ordered from a windscreen supplier and recommended best as not being a glue but a water sealant. I went for this option as I am not sure if the rear screen needs to come out again when the interior is being trimmed, if not it will be really awkward to fit the interior behind the seating area, we shall see.
Also returned to the rear lights, I did purchase some classic round style rear lights but could not really get them to sit in place with a finish I was happy with so after much time wasted I have decided to refit the original lights. I have cleaned them up and are in the process of making some brackets to secure them to the bodywork. I have slightly repositioned them as each reversing light was slightly tucked behind the number plate and not really a good fit.
Really struggling at present to make any head way as I keep coming across minor frustrating problems that seem to take up any spare time, e.g. went to fit the roll bar and a small cross brace I had inserted into the chassis is blocking the access area where the nuts fit onto the rollbar bolts doh !!! might have to cut the brace out. So many minor jobs to do and really must return to sorting out the one offending exhaust manifold I put to one side.
